Get Over It

There are a lot of great things about America.  A lot…But we are an impatient crowd; and with every generation it is going to get worse.  Many of us have no sense of delayed gratification, and with the constant increase of technology, this will only get worse.

Today, I drove past a sign stuck in the ground similar to the one posted above.  It read:

“Lose weight FAST and EASY!”

Guess what?

Losing weight healthily, in manner in which you will keep it off, doesn’t usually happen fast.

NOPE.

It ain’t gonna be fast.  And and DEFINITELY isn’t going to be easy.

In fact, I’m going to venture to say that anything in this life that is “easy” isn’t worth your while because it isn’t what it seems, and it isn’t going to work.

Think about it:  putting that weight on took a little bit of time.  You may not have noticed it because putting it on was fun.  Losing it takes effort.  It takes discipline.  It takes tenacity.

Getting up at 4 am because it is the only time you have to workout.  Putting down the doughnut and eating something you don’t really like…

How bad do you want it???

Maybe you don’t need to lose weight, but you want a muscle-up, pull-up, handstand push-up, one stinkin’ double-under, heck…maybe you just want some damn coordination….it’s going to take time… You’re going to have to work.  It is going to be frustrating.

Get over it.

Why do women have second children?  Because they forget the pain of childbirth caused by the first because that cute, cuddly, little baby is so worth it.

Get over it.

It will be worthwhile in the end…
