We’ve all tripped while attempting to get that tenth box jump in and have earned that “badge of honor” scar on our shin.
We’ve all forgotten to tuck our heads back in a press and have gotten that jolting bash to the chin.
We’ve all had that metallic cable give us a friendly slap to the arse that leaves our friends doubting our denial of S&M, after an afternoon session of double-under practice.
And who hasn’t had a near neck-breaking experience when attempting to be a gymnast for the first time in handstand push-up practice?
We’ve all jumped up on a rope with aspirations to climb, only to realize that our ambition is bigger than our deltoids…
And, come on… we’ve all fallen off the rower in an intense battle against another athlete to reach 1000 meters (okay, perhaps that was just me…).
But guess what?
We’re not here to look good while we’re doing it. We’re here to look good because we’re doing it.
Get over it. Stop not attempting to try new things because you’re afraid that you’ll “look stupid”. Geez…I owe my untainted, untouched, and undiscovered athleticism to thirteen-plus years of that in gym class.
You can’t win if you don’t play.
Get over it. Chances are no one will remember if you fail.
But you will remember if you don’t try.
