The CrossFit Kidney

Can you think of a better face to win Shoreline CrossFit’s first Member of the Month, earning herself “The Golden Barbell” for the month of October?!!!
That’s right, Amy Robinson is SCF’s October member of the month.

Before I started at SCF, I wasn’t as concious of certain aspects my health as I thought I was. When I decided to help my dad out, I became more focused on getting stronger so I could heal faster[...] When the doctors gave me the “ten millons” over and found me healthy as a horse, SCF popped into my mind IMMEDIATELY. Dad’s Surgeon named his new Kidney ‘The Crossfit Kidney’… You all helped ME save my Dad“.

Many of you know that Amy volunteered to give her father one of her kidneys towards the conclusion of the summer months.  As mentioned above, she had something done that most young people (yes, Amy, you are young) never have the opportunity to have done: she had every aspect of her health examined. Due to these procedures, she found herself to be healthier than expected.  She chalks this all up to CrossFit.  Without her commitment to fitness, she may not have been able to do what she did.

Amy’s self-sacrificing spirit saved her father; in fact, he was back doing physical activity before she was!  As soon as Amy was able, she was back in that noon class at SCF spreading her contagious energy with everyone with whom she came into contact.

We believe that Amy embodies everything for which Shoreline CrossFit stands.  She is patient, caring, self-sacrificing, positive, and tenacious.

Congratulations to you AND your kidney (and your dad’s new kidney!) on this well-deserved honor.
